Einbeck is very famous for its 600 year old beer brewery, home of ''Einbecker Bier'', the origin for the term ''Bock beer''. It is believed to be the eldest brewery in Germany.

Einbeck is the birthplace of Henry Muhlenberg, who emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1742 and became the patriarch of the Muhlenberg Family dynasty as well as the founder of the Lutheran church in the American colonies.
