EL RANCHO CHARTER SCHOOL

'El Rancho' is a charter school located in Anaheim Hills, Anaheim, California. It is part of the Orange Unified School District. The average annual enrollment is 1,000 students.

El Rancho was awarded the California Distinguished School Award in 2005.^[1]
Also, El Rancho's Science Olympiad team has excelled in competition, achieving the distinction of having gone to the national tournament for nine years in a row, from 1997 to 2005.

They are also going to the 2007 national competition in Wichita, Kansas after having won first place at the state competition on April 14th, 2007.^[10]
However, in 2006 El Rancho's Science Olympiad team did not achieve first place at the state competition, so the team did not go to nationals that year.^[11]
This year (2007), El Rancho has gained back the title of state champions, and will participate in the nationals competition in Wichita Kansas on May 19th.The students on the team got 9 first places, and quite a few seconds
El Rancho also has a very talented Musical Theatre group. The young performers have three different plays every school year: a Patriotic show, a Broadway Dinner Theatre, and a Star Search show(talent show). This past year's Broadway show was Disney's ''High School Musical'', while next year's Broadway show will be Disney's ''Mulan''.
