ELK, KANSAS

'Elk, Kansas' was a small community which was located close to the borders of Marion and Chase County. The community was mainly comprised of members of the Collett family, and many descendants of the original population still live in the area today.
The reason Elk no longer exists could be because the community did not have a railroad, a large population, and/or a large amount of commerce.
The community should not be confused with Elk City, Kansas.
