'Elmwood—Transcona' is a federal electoral district in Manitoba, Canada, that has been represented in the Canadian House of Commons since 1988. Its population in 2001 was 77,977.
The riding was created in 2003 from Winnipeg—Transcona riding. It has been represented since 2004 by New Democratic Party (NDP) Member of Parliament (MP) Bill Blaikie.

Elmwood—Transcona contains the neighbourhoods of Transcona, South Transcona, Peguis, Regent, Mission Gardens, Melrose, Kildonan Meadows, North Transcona, Kildare Redonda, Kern Park, Canterbury Park, Kildonan Drive, Rossmere, Valley Gardens, Munroe, West Elmwood, Chalmers, Braeside, Talbot Grey, East Elmwood, Mission and Tyne-Tees within the city of Winnipeg. It covers 46 sq. km.

Member of Parliament


Its MP is Bill Blaikie, a former clergyperson. He was first elected in 1979. He is the Deputy Leader of the New Democratic Party, and is their critic on the Deputy Prime Minister and National Defence. In the last parliamentary session he served as a member on the 'Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs' and the 'Standing Committee on Health'.
