Elwood is the 2007 winner of the World's Ugliest Dog Contest, and had came second in the contest the year before. His owner is Karen Quigley, a resident of Sewell, New Jersey. He is a two year old Chinese Crested chihuahua mixed breed.
Elwood was rescued as a result of a NJ SPCA investigation. He was shivering, had a runny nose, and was making strange sounds when Karen came over to see him. Elwood still makes these strange noises.
Elwood is said to be a friendly dog, and nice when you get to know him.
Elwood has a short muzzle, white hair on his head, big eyes and a tongue that hangs out of his mouth, a trait shared by a lot of the other dogs in the contest.
