The village

The village is part of the Blaby constituency, which is represented by the Conservative MP Andrew Robathan in the House of Commons.
The village centre consists of a number of old and very narrow roads, with more recent housing developments to the south and west. A disused railway line known locally as ‘Whistle Way’ lies to the north of the village, and has since become the western edge of the Enderby area.

Schooling

Schools attended by the children and teenagers of Enderby usually comprise of:

★ Danemill Primary School[1]

★ Brockington College[2]

★ Lutterworth Grammmar School and Community College[3]

Crime

Despite its close proximity to a major city, Enderby has a very low crime rate.
Enderby was the location where murderer Colin Pitchfork raped and murdered a 15 year old schoolgirl.[4] He also killed a girl of the same age in Narborough. Initially a 17 year old was suspected and even confessed to one of the murders, but DNA testing cleared him.[5] This resulted in the people of Enderby were subject to the first mass DNA screening of locals in history, and Pitchfork was the first person to be arrested and convicted of a crime using DNA profiling.[6][7][8][9]

Transport

Enderby is situated close to the M69 and M1 motorways and has two regular bus services. Rail transport is provided by the nearby Narborough railway station.
Despite objections from some Enderby residents[2], planning permission has now been granted for the proposed Park and ride scheme[3], to be built on land opposite the Leicestershire Constabulary HQ.
