ERIC MOULDS
'Eric Shannon Moulds' (born July 17, 1973 in Lucedale, Mississippi) is an American football wide receiver for the Tennessee Titans. He went to Mississippi State University where he caught 118 passes for 2,022 yards (averaging 17.1 per catch). Moulds was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the first round (24th pick overall) of the 1996 NFL Draft.
Moulds was considered to be a first round bust until the 1998 season when the
Bills acquired quarterback Doug Flutie. Moulds led all AFC receivers with 1,368 receiving yards.
In the playoffs Moulds had a record breaking 240 yard performance against the Miami Dolphins, though he lost a fumble on the Bills' first play, a 65-yard pass from Flutie. Buffalo lost 24-17.
Since then, Moulds established himself as one of the premier receivers in football, amassing 675 career receptions (as of the end of 2005) and has been selected to three Pro Bowls.
On April 4, 2006, Moulds was traded to the Houston Texans, in exchange for their fifth round draft pick in the 2006 NFL Draft.
On February 28, 2007, Moulds was released from the Texans after a disappointing 2006 season. After his release, Moulds criticized then Texans QB David Carr by saying "The quarterback has to show that he can carry (the team)."
Eric Moulds is rumored to have expressed on a local Mississippi radio station that he is interested in returning to Buffalo, lining up opposite to Lee Evans. This is just speculation at this time. In addition, the Vikings have made casual inquiries about Eric Moulds.
According to the NFL Network's Adam Schefter, the Tennessee Titans are considering signing Moulds, after failing to sign Keyshawn Johnson. [1] They've since decided against it. The fact that the Titans have a young Vince Young as their QB is speculated to be a reason as Moulds has thrown young QBs under the bus in 2 consecutive seasons. First the Bills' J.P. Losman and then the Texans' David Carr. However, the Titans signed Moulds on July 25, 2007 [1], and as of the beginning of the season he has earned a starting position
