ESSEX SENIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE
(Redirected from Essex Senior League)
The 'Essex Senior Football League' is an English football league covering Essex and East London. It is a feeder to the Isthmian League. It has a single division which sits at step 5 (or level 9) of the National League System. In 2006 the Football Association asked this league and the Kent League to consider a possible future merger.
Since the 1972-73 season, member teams of the Essex Senior League have been able to compete in the Essex Senior League Challenge Cup. Since its inauguration Basildon United and Brentwood Town have won the tournament three times, more than any other team.
For a team to be relegated from the Essex Senior League they would have to resign their Senior Status and join an Intermediate League.
