EURO FORMULA 3000

The 'Euro Formula 3000' is a motorsport single-seater series and a type of formula racing.
The series started in 1999 as 'Italian Formula 3000' and became European Formula 3000 in 2001, when the FIA Formula 3000 became International. At the beginning nearly all races were held in Italy, but very quickly the series was enlarged and had venues in different European countries. For 2004 Superfund enclosed its sponsername in the series name. But one year later they withdraw and so the series went back to Italy.
Since the beginning the series runs Lola chassis with Zytek engines. The teams used Lola T96/50 in the three two years. The next three years (2001-2003) saw the Lola T99/50 in use. In 2005 and 2006 Lola B02/50 (class A) and Lola B99/50 (light class and Pro Series) chassis were in use.
2005 also saw a rival series ('Pro Series'), also based in Italy and also using Lola B99/50 chassis. This series was renamed in 2006 to 'F3000 International Masters'.
In 2006 there was a new start to establish a kind of European Formula 3000 named Euroseries 3000.
