FALCON ENTERTAINMENT

'Falcon Entertainment' (better known as 'Falcon Studios'), based in San Francisco, California, is one of the world's largest producers of gay pornography. Founded in 1971 by Chuck Holmes, [1] Falcon is one of the most recognizable brand names in gay porn. Currently, the owners of three of its major American competitors, Hot House Entertainment, Colt Studios, and Rascal Video (Steven Scarborough[2] John Rutherford[3] and Chi Chi LaRue respectively) are all directors who worked with Falcon Studios.

Falcon has issued more than 400 pornographic films under several brand names, comprising 'The Falcon Family of Companies':

★ 'Falcon Studios' is the group's flagship brand and established Falcon's reputation for high production values and product quality

★ 'Jocks Studios' has relaunched itself as an amateur porn line that focuses on younger models performing with no script

★ 'Mustang Studios' features more mature models

★ The 'Falcon International Collection' shoots films in Europe and focuses on European (mostly Eastern European) models

★ The 'Alone With Series' includes interviews with performers that masturbate alone rather than having sex with another performer
In addition to its family of film studios, Falcon operates www.falconstudios.com, a website comprised of four separate areas: "Falcon Store", "Falcon Member Site", "Falcon Video on Demand", and "Falcon Live". [4] The Falcon Store is a web-based retailer offering Falcon's films and a line of sex toys and other products for which Falcon has licensed its trademark.[5] Several of the dildos included in the collection of sex toys are modeled on the penises of Falcon's performers; the retail price of these is between US$54.00 and US$90.00. [6] [7]
Access to the Falcon Member Site requires a paid membership; members have access to explicit pornographic content on the site and receive a price discount on purchases of Falcon products. Falcon Live provides fee-based one-on-one interaction with models in private video chat rooms and also produces live webcasts of performers having sex.
Video on Demand offers viewing of videos, either streaming on the web or downloaded to an individual's computer. Much like renting a video at a retail outlet, a fee is paid to view the films for a specific amount of time. Once the time elapses, access to the film—whether online or on the individual's computer—is disallowed.

Corporate history

Prior to 2004 the Falcon Family of Companies was owned by parent company Conwest Resources Inc.. Conwest was in turn owned by the Charles M. Holmes Foundation, a charitable foundation based in Portland, Oregon. [8] The Foundation supports a wide range of organizations, including groups protecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender rights, organizations which provide support to people living with HIV/AIDS, and others that help homeless youth or fight pediatric cancer and autism. [9]
In 2004 the studio's management bought Falcon from Conwest through 3Media Corp., a company that was formed by Falcon executives Terry Mahaffey and Todd Montgomery. 3Media will eventually assume the Conwest name. The buyout was arranged in order to separate the business from the Charles M. Holmes Foundation, which continues to function as a nonprofit organization. 8
Todd Montgomery is the president and CEO of the Falcon Family of Companies and its operating company, Conwest Resources. [10]
