FALLS CHURCH HIGH SCHOOL
'Falls Church High School' is a high school located in Fairfax County, Virginia. While the school has a "Falls Church, Virginia" address, the school is not located in the city of Falls Church and does not serve the city of Falls Church (George Mason High School serves Falls Church.)
FCHS school is located on Jaguar Trail, near Providence Recreational Center. It is surrounded by Loehmann's Plaza, Thomas Jefferson Public Library, Monticello Garden Apartments, and Kingsley Common Townhouses. The current principal is Janice Lloyd. The school serves grades 9 through 12. It was relocated from its former site in downtown Falls Church to this address in 1967; Whittier Junior High School occupied its current facility since 1959.
As of 11:56 p.m. ET June 4, 2007, ''Newsweek'' magazine says that Falls Church High School is the 188th top school in the United States. [1]

Falls Church High School is fully accredited based on its Virginia Standards of Learning test performance. The average SAT score for Falls Church is 1,209 (304 Critical Reading, 317 Math, and 488 in Writing).

Recent News
On December 5 2006, Falls Church High School was named a National Demonstration Site for the elective class Advancement Via Individual Determination, (AVID). [2]. Falls Church is one of only two schools in Fairfax county that have a full four-year AVID program.
On June 1, 2007, at the Jaguars' graduation at the Patriot Center on the campus of George Mason University, Ben Affleck made a special appearance as a guest speaker thanks to a student who knew him and was graduating. He made a speech and met with students and was also accompanied by his wife, Jennifer Garner.
