Fastway was established in 1983 by Bill Mcgowen, it is currently franchised in 11 countries: New Zealand, Australia, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Germany, Spain, Canada, and The Netherlands. It boasted, amongst many other accolades, being the largest courier franchise in the world, The UK alone has over 300 couriers.
The system is unique where customers by pre-paid stamps, or labels. This helps control spending on shipping and there are no hidden charges. Another unique factor is that each courier is self employed, running their area as their own business, giving greater accountability.
Fastway Global, Ltd. is the overall entity that heads up the Fastway Courier Franchise Network. Operating in each Fastway country is a Fastway National Master Franchisee. They run a total business management franchise, establishing and controlling the sales, marketing, administration, IT, operations, and support services in their country. Fastway Global's role is to provide the initial training and ongoing support and assistance to each National Master Franchisee to enable them to build successful businesses.
A representational office (bureau de liaison) is based in Beausoleil, France.
