FIRST THINGS

'''First Things''' is a monthly ecumenical journal concerned with the creation of a "religiously informed public philosophy for the ordering of society" (First Things website).
Father Richard John Neuhaus, a prominent American Catholic thinker and essayist, is its founder and editor in chief. He started the journal after being evicted from the Rockford Institute in disputed circumstances.[1]
The journal is interreligious and non-partisan, representing a broad intellectual tradition of conservative Christian critique of contemporary society.
Contributors represent Catholic, Orthodox, Jewish, and Protestant viewpoints. Among the Catholic intellectuals represented are Mary Ann Glendon, George Weigel, Carol Iannone, Robert P. George, Robert Sirico, and Michael Novak. Max L. Stackhouse is on the editorial board.
