FLORIDA STATE ROAD 7

'State Road 7' is a major north-south artery connecting Okeechobee Boulevard (SR 704) in West Palm Beach with US 41 (SR 90) in the Little Havana section of Miami. All but the northernmost two miles (from Royal Palm Beach to West Palm Beach) is also US 441, and has been since 1950.
The Palm Beach County stretch of US 441/SR 7 features signs with both designations. In Broward County, the road is signed with only US 441 shields, but is indicated as "State Road 7" on green street signs when approaching the road from cross streets. From the Miami-Dade County line north to Stirling Road in Hollywood, it is also known as S. 60th Avenue. In addition, Broward County addresses along the route show references to "State Route 7" and residents refer to the road as both "441" and "State Road 7".
The road in Miami-Dade County is signed with only the US 441 shields, with no indication of State Road 7 anywhere. It is labeled NW 2nd Avenue north of the Golden Glades Interchange and NW 7th Avenue from the Interchange south to the Miami River, after which it continues another dozen blocks to US 41 as NW and SW 8th Avenues. Since early 2007, when the Florida Department of Transportation demolished the NW 7th Avenue Bridge, the temporary southern terminus of the road has been the Miami River. The replacement bridge will not be finished until 2011.^[2]
At Royal Palm Beach, US 441 leaves the SR7 indication behind, making a westward turn and overlapping US 98 (SR 80) as it approaches Belle Glade on the shore of Lake Okeechobee.
