FORT KING GEORGE
'Fort King George' is a fort located in the U.S. state of Georgia. The fort was built in 1721 and served as the sourthernmost outpost of the British colonies in the Americas. It was abandoned in 1736. Scottish colonists settled on the site of the old fort, naming their village Darien.
The fort has now been reconstructed and is open to the public for historical tours.
