The 'Franklin Post Office' in Franklin, Ohio (Warren County), known locally as "The Old Log Post Office" is a two story log cabin, the oldest post office in the State of Ohio, and the oldest standing building in Franklin, Ohio.
Thomas Jefferson appointed the first postmaster, John N. C. Schenck. The first post office was his home. The post office was established April 1 1805. It was originally at 310 River Street but was moved to its present site in 1974. It was entered into the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
Presently a portion of the Great Miami River Recreation Trail, a bicycle trail, passes in front of the post office which is near the corner of 5th Street and River Street in Franklin.
