Anarchism 101: Lesson #10 - Mutualism and Market Anarchy
Anarchism 101: Three Minutes at a Time. In Lesson #10 we discuss mutualism, market anarchy, and why the two are not synonymous.
Why Market Anarchism Fails & A Possible Solution
A response to Luke12000 on the divide between social anarchism and market anarchism [private property being the defining issue], with a recommendation as to a solution. My apologies on the low audio, I don't have my microphone with me and had to use the internal mike in my laptop. Although this video was addressed to Luke (since I effectively owed him a response), I'm open to comments from everyone (although if what you have to say is longer than 2-3 comments please PM me, so we can avoid whole essays in the comment section).
My Argument for Free-Market Anarchism
"An Open letter to Ayn Rand" -- this is quick, but very famous and very relevant to this discussion, since he takes on Rand's minarchy concept head-on: http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig4/childs1.html Also, I should introduce you to one of the greatest free-market anarchists, Stephan M.: "Would Anarchy Create Governments?" http://youtube.com/watch?v=WIgHO8SZJdI He has about 200 videos about market anarchy, and I think they're top quality, and a great place to start exploring. (The link above is one of his best discussions in my opinion). I get a lot of my arguments from him :) One book I highly recommend is "The Machinery of Freedom: Guide to Radical Capitalism" by David Friedman: http://www.amazon.com/Machinery-Freedom-Guide-Radical-Capitalism/dp/0812690699/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1209014739&sr=8-2
Market Anarchy and self-pwnership.
My thoughts on the market anarchist who has been talking at me recently, and self-ownership at the end. http://uk.youtube.com/comment_servlet?all_comments&v=OWE8bdVW_jY&fromurl=/watch%3Fv%3DOWE8bdVW_jY And stuff And the image I'm reminded of when faced with comments on market anarchy videos: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MZ70hbvaPdU Which is how life will work under said system. And lulz I'm going to call it MAnarchy from now on, why? Because it sounds RUGGED!!!!!!!! Like it eats raw meat and takes care of its' business with a RAWR in its' throat.

I am now a MARKET ANARCHIST
I've finally got it through my disingenuous skull what market anarchy is all about, and I am now conflating it with freedom.
Why I switched to Market Anarchy

Re: Re: Is There Common Ground?
There is a bridge between contemporary market anarchism and social anarchism: mutualism and individualist anarchism. On one hand, the arguement put forth by many social anarchists that market-oriented anarchism has no historical precedent is completely countered by a load of propertarian views held by everyone from Proudhon to Benjamin Tucker. On the other hand, the contention that all socialism is inherently statist and opposed to private property is countered by the fact that certain figures in the 19th century (such as Tucker and Proudhon) were essentially "free market socialists" and held surprisingly propertarian views. The distinction between 19th century individualist anarchism and contemporary market anarchism hinges on nothing more then wether or not one accepts the labor theory of value.
