GT INTERACTIVE
'GT Interactive' was an American video game developer founded in 1993 and headquartered in New York City. It was bought by French company Infogrames Entertainment SA (IESA) in 1999.
Following its purchase by IESA, GT Interactive was renamed 'Infogrames, Inc.' and became the official North American subsidiary of the company. In 2001, Infogrames absorbed Hasbro Interactive, owner of the Atari brand. As of October 2001, 'Infogrames, Inc.' started releasing games under the Atari name.
'Infogrames, Inc.' was subsequently renamed 'Atari, Inc.' in 2003, and continues to operate under the brand to this day.
