GAMMA PERSEI
'Gamma Persei' (γ Per / γ Per) is a Class G8III, third-magnitude star in the constellation Perseus. It is, on rare occasions, called by the proper name '''Al Fakhir''' or '''Alphecher''', meaning ''"the Excellent One"'', in Arabic. Another Arabic name is '''Seid''' or ''Sa'id'', meaning ''"forearm"''.
Gamma Persei is actually a multiple star system consisting of two main components: a yellow giant star of class G8 and a magnitude of 2.91, and a lesser white companion of class A2V and a magnitude of 3.00. The Gamma Persei stellar system is located about 260 light-years from Earth.
