GEORGE OSBORNE (CRICKETER)
'George Osborne' was an English cricketer who played for Derbyshire.
Osborne made his debut for Derbyshire during the 1879 season, having made his debut first-class appearance in a Gentlemen v. Players match in 1877, on the winning Players side. His County debut came two years later, when he represented Derbyshire for the first time, against Lancashire. Osborne made a good enough account of himself when pushed to the lower order to be picked for three further matches during the season, picking up his career high score of 14 against Yorkshire.
Though he appeared in a game against Marylebone Cricket Club two years later, Osborne went three and a half years without another County appearance, and he appeared just one further time before hanging up his gloves in 1883.
