GEORGE SEWARD
'George F. Seward' (b. 1840 - d. November 28, 1910) was a United States diplomat during the late 19th century who served as "Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary" to China from 1876 until 1880.

Minister to China
Seward, a Californian, was appointed to the position of U.S. Minister to China on January 7, 1876 and he presented his credentials to the Chinese on April 24, 1876.
