GEORGE WALDEGRAVE, 4TH EARL WALDEGRAVE
'George Waldegrave, 4th Earl Waldegrave', PC, ADC (23 November 1751 – 22 October 1789) was a British statesman.
The eldest son of the 3rd Earl of Waldegrave, he was educated at Eton and joined the 3rd Regiment of Foot in 1768, became a Captain in 1773, served during the American War of Independence from 1776–77 and rose to the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1778.
On 5 May 1782, Waldegrave married his first cousin, Lady Elizabeth Laura Waldegrave and they had five children. He inherited his father's titles in 1784.
