GEORGIA AVE-PETWORTH (WASHINGTON METRO)

'Georgia Ave-Petworth' is a Washington Metro station in Washington, D.C., on the Green Line. It is served also by the Yellow Line during off-peak times.
The station is located near the Petworth and Columbia Heights neighborhoods of Northwest Washington, at the northernmost corner of the intersection at Georgia and New Hampshire Avenues. Service began on September 18, 1999.
The station's west entrance closed on December 11, 2006, to accommodate construction of a mixed-use development. This required the relocation of bus stops, bike racks, and lockers. The entrance is expected to be closed for two years, with reopening planned for 2008.[1]
