GIRLFRIEND ('N SYNC SONG)
'Girlfriend' is the third and final single from boy band 'N Sync's third album Celebrity. It was the last single the group released together. There are two main versions of the song: The album version and a remix which features rapper Nelly. The song, unlike previous 'N Sync releases, possessed a heavy hip-hop influence, thanks to producers The Neptunes. It peaked at #5 in the US and #2 in the UK.
As of May 2006, a lawsuit has been filed against 'N Sync, Nelly and The Neptunes for Copyright Infringement. It is alleged that the song infringes on a song by TRB called "Be My Girlfriend". The lawsuit was filed by Ben Freeman.
