'Glauchau' is a town in Germany, in Saxony, on the right bank of the Mulde, 7 m. N. of Zwickau and I 7 W. of Chemnitz by rail. It is the capital of the Chemnitzer Land district. Pop. (2005) 26,255. Its Sister City is Lynchburg, Virginia.

Glauchau was founded by a colony of Sorbs and Wends, and belonged to the lords of Schönberg as early as the 12th century.
