GLYPHA III

'Glypha III' is a ''Joust'' clone for the Macintosh written in C by John Calhoun. It was developed and distributed by Soft Dorothy Software in 1995 as freeware and open-source. In the game, the player plays inside an Egyptian temple and must battle with sphinxes using a lance and winged steed. Eggs are produced from dead sphinxes which hold a value of 500 points. A Mac OS X version was also made by Mark Pazolli in Xcode.
The game and its sourcecode were often included with programming guides, employed as model examples of Mac game programming. Calhoun often contributed to the guides himself.
