GOTEKI

'Goteki' (''pronounced 'Go-tech-E''') is a band founded by 'Sneaky' (Real name Ross Tregenza). The band's formation came about after Sneaky's former band, Sneaky Bat Machine, ended. Most members of Sneaky Bat Machine were also in Goteki.
The original line-up of Goteki consisted of Sneaky on vocals, 'Crash 303' (real name Clive Lewis) on synth and 'Doktor A' (real name Bruce Attley) on synth and samples.
The bands first release was the ''Fight the Saucermen'' EP which was released in early 2000 on Wasp Factory Records.
The bands first full-length release was 2002's ''Goteki O/S''. The album itself features guest appearances by musicians from the bands Icon of Coil and Apoptygma Berzerk. All music on the album is written and arranged by the bands founder, Sneaky. The album itself is rather eclectic in its style, songs range from ambient electronica to harsh drum and bass.
The album ''Goteki O/S'' was followed by ''Goteki O/S : Corrupted Files'', a remix album which contained remixes from bands such as DeathBoy, Icon of Coil and Sigue Sigue Sputnik.
In late 2003, the band announced that they were taking a new direction, concentrating on live performance aspects and utilising a human drummer for the first time.
With this shift in directionm singer Sneaky dropped the name Sneaky in favour of his real name, 'Ross Tregenza'.
Between 2004 and 2005, both Crash 303 and Doktor A left the band. They were replaced by 'Ali Star' (real name Alastair Power) on bass, 'YanYan' (real name Lilian Cheung) on percussion and synth and 'Edy' (real name Edward Green on live guitar. YanYan left the band in 2006 and was replaced by 'Rosie Harris'.
Goteki released their second album Revolution with Wasp Factory Records, it was at this point an internet-only release but due to heavy demand for a CD to be released, Goteki released the album with their own label Alphastar Records in late 2005.
Goteki disbanded in March of 2006, on their website they stated that "The need for all things to come to a good and timely end". Their last performance took place at Electrofest on the 30th of April 2006.
Ross and Rosie Harris have now joined the newly reformed Visage. They play live guitar and live bass.
Ross is also working on a new project named 'Jetstream Lovers' with members Edy and Ali Star.
