GREATER BINGHAMTON

'Greater Binghamton' is the regional name given to the area of Broome County, New York and the surrounding area.The Greater Binghamton Area has a population of 252,320 going by the 2000 US Census. The Greater Binghamton name was adopted in the early 21st century to better identify the region with its most well-known city.
Historically the Greater Binghamton region has been known as the Triple Cities (Binghamton, Johnson City and Endicott, New York). Greater Binghamton is considered a part of the Southern Tier of New York State and lies on the southern border with Pennsylvania, approximately 70 miles south of Syracuse, New York.
