There are actually three different Green Rivers of Western Massachusetts
The Green River of Egremont and Great Barrington, Massachusetts is a tributary of the Housatonic River.
The Green River of Williamstown, Massachusetts is a tributary of the Hoosac River, which itself is a tributary of the Hudson River in New York.
The Green River of West Leyden and Greenfield, Massachusetts is a tributary of the Deerfield River, which itself is a tributary of the Connecticut River.
