GRENFEL, ONTARIO


'Grenfel' is a community in the township of Springwater, in the province of Ontario, Canada. It is located 7 kilometers west of the city of Barrie.
The village has a rich history that dates back to the early 1800s when Sunnidale Road was surveyed west from Barrie. The Nine Mile Portage that linked Kempenfelt Bay in Lake Simcoe to Georgian Bay on Lake Huron terminates just north of the village at Fort Willow, Ontario.
