GUADALAJARA METROPOLITAN AREA
The 'Guadalajara Metropolitan Area' (Spanish: ''Área Metropolitana de Guadalajara'') is the most populous metropolitan area of the Mexican state of Jalisco and the second largest in the country after Mexico City. It includes the main municipality ''(municipio)'' of Guadalajara and the surrounding municipalities of Zapopan, Tlaquepaque, and Tonalá on a ''de jure'' basis. In ''de facto'' terms, the metropolitan area also includes the municipalities of Tlajomulco de Zuñiga, El Salto, Juanacatlán, and Ixtlahuacán del Río.
