GULDBORGSUND MUNICIPALITY

Location of Guldborgsund municipality

'Guldborgsund' is a municipality (Danish, ''kommune'') in Region Sjælland in Denmark, spanning the Guldborgsund strait. It covers an area of 907 km² and a total population of 63,540 (2007).
On January 1, 2007 Guldborgsund municipality was created as the result of ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007), consisting of th former municipalities of Nykøbing Falster, Nysted, Nørre Alslev, Sakskøbing, Stubbekøbing, and Sydfalster.
