'HNoMS ''Kjell''' was a Lyn class torpedo boat of the Royal Norwegian Navy. Launched in Norway in 1912. After the outbreak off WWII, she took part in neutrality guarding duties. In February 1940 ''Kjell '' escorted the German tanker and POW ship ''Altmark'' through Norwegian waters up until the Altmark incident.
''Kjell'' was captured by the Germans in 1940 during the German invasion of Norway in World War II. The Germans used her as a patrol boat under the names ''Grenadier'' and later ''NK02 Dragoner''.
The ship was sunk near Mandal 28 September 1944 by British aircraft of the No. 248 Squadron RAF. Seven German sailors lost their lives.
