HALFDAN RAGNARSSON
'Halfdan' was one of the sons of Ragnar Lodbrok. It has been suggested that he is the same person as Ragnars son Hvitserk. He pillaged with his brothers in England in 855, and later became a leader of the Great Heathen Army. He was the ruler of London 871-872 where he had coins made.
In 875, he conquered Northumberland where he became king. He was widely unpopular due to his alleged cruelty. He was expelled from York and fell during a new Viking expedition in 877.
