'"Happiness"' is a song written by Elliott Smith which was first released as a single in 1999. A slightly different mix of the song was released on his album ''Figure 8'' in 2000.
On the album version, the track is labelled as "Happiness/The Gondola Man" due to the short instrumental featured after "Happiness" ends. On this single, an entirely different instrumental piece follows the song that is not found elsewhere.
A working title for the song was "Tom's Start".
An acoustic version of "Happiness" appears on the ''3 Titres Inedits'' promo album.
