HARDWICKE (ELMSTONE-HARDWICKE)
'Hardwicke' (or Hardwick) is a hamlet in the parish of Elmstone-Hardwicke, to the north-west of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire. Hardwicke (and Elmstone-Hardwicke) are in the Borough of Tewkesbury.
The houses in Hardwicke are laid out in a V-shape around the field of a riding school. Elmstone-Hardwicke's tiny village green is also here, along with a traditional red telephone box. Several farms lie nearby.
The road past to Elmstone-Hardwicke proper was cut off by the building of the M5 motorway. A new road with motorway bridge replaced it.
