HARRY BARNES (LABOUR POLITICIAN)

'Harry Barnes' (born July 22, 1936) is an English politician, and was member of Parliament for North East Derbyshire 1987-2005. He is a member of the Labour Party.
Elected to Parliament in the 1987 election, Barnes was seen as a left-winger, a member of the Socialist Campaign Group who voted against Tony Blair's leadership on a number of issues. Unlike other members of the SCG he was not an advocate of the Troops out movement (from Northern Ireland) and he supported the NATO intervention in Kosovo in 1999.
Harry Barnes stepped down at the May 2005 general election. Since his seventieth Birthday he has run a blog called"Three Score Years And Ten".
