HIBBERTS GORE, MAINE

'Hibberts Gore' (also called 'Hibberts') is a small unincorporated area located in Lincoln County, Maine, latitude 44.325N longitude -69.427W. As of the 2000 census, one person lived there. Ignored by surveyors who mapped Maine, it remained unincorporated as the state was demarcated.

Geography


According to the United States Census Bureau, the gore has a total area of 2.0 km² (0.8 mi²). 2.0 km² (0.8 mi²) of it is land and 1.28% is water. The water is primarily wetlands, part of Sheepscot Pond, which is the headwaters of Sheepscot River.

Demographics


As of the census2 of 2000, there was one person living there.
According to Wikipedia List of places with fewer than ten residents, the Gore is one of only seven places in the United States to have a population of 1. The others are Erving's Location, New Hampshire, Holy City, California, Hoot Owl, Oklahoma, Lost Springs, Wyoming, Monowi, Nebraska, and New Amsterdam, Indiana.
