HIDEKI TAKAHASHI

'Hideki Takahashi' (高橋英樹 Takahashi Hideki, 1944 – ) is a Japanese actor. Born in Kisarazu, Chiba near Tokyo, he attended Ichikawa Gakuen and later Nihon University.

He made his debut with Nikkatsu and acted in youth-oriented films. After becoming a star in television ''jidaigeki'', he turned out hit after hit. His ''jidaigeki'' roles included

★ ''MomotarÅ-zamurai''

★ ''TÅyama no Kin-san''

★ ''Sanbiki ga Kiru!''.
He played Oda Nobunaga in the 1973 NHK Taiga dorama ''Kunitori Monogatari'', and Shimazu Hisamitsu in another Taiga dorama, the 1990 ''Tobu ga Gotoku'', as well as Mori Suemitsu in ''HÅjÅ Tokimune'' (2001) and Fujiwara no Hidehira in ''Yoshitsune'' (2005). He played Tokugawa Ieyasu and his double in ''Kagemusha Tokugawa Ieyasu'' (1998).

Other starring


Modern roles are also in his repertoire. Among these is Detective Totsukawa in the ''Nishimura KyÅtarÅ Travel Mystery'' series. Takahashi is also active as a personality in quiz shows, exemplified by ''Quiz Nihonjin no Shitsumon'' (NHK, 1993–2003). He has also appeard as a judge for Iron Chef.

Family


His daughter is Maasa Takahashi,professional presenter of Fuji Television.
