HIGH ERCALL

'High Ercall' (pronounced ''High Arcal'') is a village in the borough of Telford and Wrekin and ceremonial county of Shropshire, England.
It lies on the junction of the B5062 and B5063. There is a pub called the Cleveland Arms and a church.
The old manor house was a royalist stronghold during the English Civil War and a battle took place at the village during the war. Time Team held a dig here. There are however no tourist facilities.
Just up the road is the WW2 airfield which was the home of 29MU, end of the line for a lot of aircraft in the early 1950s.
