HOCKING COLLEGE

'Hocking College' is a two-year technical college located in Nelsonville, Ohio, United States. The college is recognized for its innovative hands-on instructional approach with degree and certificate programs, with various specialties including natural resources, health and nursing, public safety services, business, IT, culinary arts, hospitality, broadcasting and industrial technology.
Approximately 60% of Hocking's 5,500+ student body comes to Nelsonville from all over Ohio, every US state and over 50 countries.

★ a travel agency "Hocking Hills Travel"

★ an energy self-sufficient Bahamian island field station at Andros that teaches ecotourism

★ a 365 acre (1.5 km²) park with 165 acre (668,000 m²) lake Snowden

★ a fish hatchery

★ an 1800s historical village with 13 log structures used for historical interpretation studies

★ a stable of 54 horses used in outback and ranger training

★ a state of the art recording studio for the music production program training future music producers, recording technicians, and the next generation of Ohio singing stars

★ rehearsal halls and a restored Victorian opera house for a theater production program

★ a television studio, production truck and microwave truck to prepare the next generation of broadcast producers and engineers

★ a low power FM radio station, WLCI-LPFM, to provide an opportunity to work and learn in a live broadcast environment

★ The college is the first in the United States to break with the academic tradition that administrators must have publications in their fields. Instead, administrators are required to engage in a quarterly series of in-house Professional Development Days, during which "Student-Centered Facilitation" is emphasized.
