Alaan does Hua Chuan III for Mercer County Champs in 2003
Here I am doing the end of Third Road Hua Fist for first place. This video makes me cringe but I was doing kung fu only for a few months at this point. The guy who got second place did Tiger-Crane and honestly he was better than me.

On March 22, 2008, Vote YES, UN for Taiwan!
On March 22, 2008, Taiwan Presidential Election will be held together with two "UN for Taiwan" Referendums. We urge all Taiwan citizens to vote "YES" for both referendums concerning our Taiwan to join the United Nations as a sovereign state member. Taiwan, unlike Tibet, has been a sovereign state, and Taiwan has never been a part of PRC China! We people of Taiwan will never allow our Taiwan to become a part of PRC! Shown in this video, several medical doctors from Chang-Hua County of Taiwan dressed up to perform a short play at a local railroad station on March 20, 2008, to urge fellow citizens to vote YES for the aforementioned referendums in the upcoming election. In 1895, Taiwan was ceded in perpetuity by China Qing Empire to Japan, without the consent of Taiwan residents. At the end of WWII, General Douglas MacArthur, the Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in the Southwest Pacific Area, then directed the senior Japanese commanders and all ground, sea, air and auxiliary forces within Formosa (Taiwan) to surrender to the Republic of China (ROC) military forces led by Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek from mainland China. Since then, the foreign ROC Regime has occupied and governed our Taiwan for more than 60 years, again without the consent of Taiwan residents. In order to ensure their dominant ruling and long stay here in Taiwan and to make ready for their exile from China, this foreign KMT-Party-led ROC Regime first butchered thousands of innocent Taiwan local civilian leaders (during the so-called "Taiwan 228 Massacre" in 1947). And then this ROC Regime imposed nearly 40 years of martial law in Taiwan, the longest one in world record. In this "White-terror" era, thousands of local political dissidents were either executed or thrown in jail. With blood and tears, we have come a long way to our present democracy status in quo. Even though our hostile neighbor PRC China has repeatedly boycotted all our previous applications to joining world communities (including the UN), we still wish to tell the world that it is simply not right to cut off the participation and voices of 23 millions Taiwan people in this world! And PRC China should never consider Taiwan will become Tibet-like! Truly, General MacArthur has unfinished business left in Asia, and the USMG should at least have the courtesy to let Taiwan people decide on their future! Further, it is actually a war crime for the foreign ROC occupier to draft local Taiwan people to fight and die for the foreign occupier. It is ironic that the democratic US has yielded to PRC and does not openly support our Taiwan people's will to join the UN. And indeed the US has knowingly betrayed and forsaken Taiwan people during the Taiwan 228 Massacre and the ensuing White-terror era - the US government are surely fully aware that the principal war victor over Taiwan territory is the United States of America and Taiwan is still considered as an "unincorporated territory under the United States Military Government." ! We wish our world understand what Dr. M.L. King, Jr. has proclaimed "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere!" All in all, we Taiwan people will continue fighting for our democracy and country - even only few countries in this world openly recognize us! And we know our dream to entering the UN as a state member will come true soon!
Montreal Chinese [Part I]
A CBC French documentary about Montreal's Chinatown in the 1970s - 1980s. Most of Montreal's Chinese since the late 1800s till the early 1990s originated from Taishan county[now Taishan city] and spoke the Chinese dialect of Taishan Hua[Toisan Wah or Hoisan Wah]. Many of the younger generation Taishanese spoke mostly English and Taishanese and ever since Bill 101 and the issue of Seperation, many 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation Chinese Canadians[Mostly all Taishanese] left mainly for Toronto, Boston or New York while leaving their elderly parents in Montreal. You could hear Taishanese in the documentary ^^ Only until the late 1980's and 1990's many vietnamese chinese and Hong Kong Chinese[whom many also have Taishan origin] started to change the face of the Montreal Chinese community and Chinatown, as we now see more vietnamese signs. Starting in 2000, many newer Chinese immigrants came from other parts of the Mainland [whom speak Mandarin, Shanghainese, Hunanese, etc].

Men's anti-dv campaign - "Real Men Respect Women"
Wisconsin "Real Men Respect Women" - Fighting Back Against Domestic Violence WSAW Amy Pflugshaupt apflugshaupt@wsaw.com Feb 14, 2008 Many people think domestic violence can't happen here, but what they don't realize what goes on behind closed doors. According to the Marathon County District Attorney, in 2006 more than 700 cases of domestic violence were reported. To let the public now that these behaviors will no longer be tolerated, local men are saying "Real Men Respect Women." On Thursday, the Weston Village Administrator announced a new campaign called "Everest Men Respect." The campaign features prominent male figures from the community including the DC Everest Football Coach and Everest Metro Police Chief. The goal behind the campaign is to get as many men to sign a petition saying they want to help battle domestic violence. By doing so, they pledge they will never engage in such actions and will do their part to break the chain of violence. The Weston Village Administrator, Dean Zuleger, and Everest Metro Police Chief, Dan Vergin, have been the driving force behind the "Everest Men Respect" project. They say this was sparked by the death of Pa Hua Thao last Fall, and they both say this is being done in her honor... http://www.wsaw.com/home/headlines/15643347.html#
