HUMAN HIGHWAY

'''Human Highway''' is a 1982 comedy film starring and co-directed by Neil Young under his pseudonym Bernard Shakey. Dean Stockwell co-directed and acted in the film, along with Dennis Hopper, Russ Tamblyn, and the post-punk and new wave band DEVO. The plot revolves around the owner of a roadside diner and his employees and customers.[1] It is a fun spirited, yet cynical view of people's dreams and ambitions in the face of disaster. Included is a performance of "Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)" by DEVO and Neil Young with Booji Boy singing lead vocals and Young playing lead guitar.
An especially heart warming moment in the film is during Lionel's dream sequence. He has become a rock star playing at a Pow Wow. The sound track then is Young's "Goin' Back" (lyrically about dreaming of Native Americans) and while there is dancing a collection of wooden indians are burned in the bon fire.
Editing and post-production supervision is credited to James Beshears (Madagascar, Shark Tale, Shrek).[2] The screen play is credited to Bernard Shakey (Neil Young), Jeanne Field, Dean Stockwell, Russ Tamblyn and Beshears.2 Choreography is credited to Tamblyn.2 Music is by Neil Young and DEVO.2The members of DEVO were asked to write their own parts.[3]
