I (EP)

'''I''' is a one-song-EP by the Swedish tech metal band, Meshuggah. The song runs for 21 minutes and is the only song on its own EP.
Meshuggah followed up ''I'' with ''Catch Thirty-Three'' which is also a single song (this time clocking in at over 40 minutes) but separated into 13 different tracks.
The song can be split into three definite sections, each representing a different style of Meshuggah's past playing.

Both the cover and disc artwork refers to the title "I." The cover features an "eye" and on the disc itself the word "aj" is printed, which is also pronounced the same way in Swedish and means "Ouch!". The "facial" structures around the eye are all made from multiple bended, shaped, mirrored and resized copies of a face.
As with their next album, ''Catch Thirty-Three'', all the drums on ''I'' were created using drummer Tomas Haake's Drumkit from Hell.
