IDAHO LOTTERY
The 'Idaho Lottery', begun on July 19, 1989, is run by the state of Idaho. It is a member of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL). Fifty percent of of all net funds are given to the Public Schools while the remainder is pledged to the Permanent Building Fund which is used as a financial resource for Idaho's colleges and universities.
The Lottery paid out over $77.6 million in gambling winnings to paticipants in 2006 and total payments to all Idaho public schools and buildings from 1990 - 2006, are $333.5 million.[1]
Games include Powerball, Scratchcard, and Pull-tabs. Idaho once had an in-state game called "Hot Lotto"; however, it is unrelated to the current MUSL jackpot game Hot Lotto.
