IN THE HEIGHTS (MUSICAL)


'''In the Heights''' is a musical about three days in the New York Upper Manhattan Latino neighborhood of Washington Heights. It opened on February 8, 2007, at the off-Broadway 37 Arts Theater. The music and lyrics were written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, and the book was written by Quiara Alegría Hudes. Directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and music direction by Alex Lacamoire, the cast features Priscilla Lopez, Mandy Gonzalez, Olga Merediz, Karen Olivo and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
The musical was produced by Jill Furman, Kevin McCollum, and Jeffery Seller. (McCollum and Seller produced ''Rent'', which won the 1996 Tony Award for Best Musical.)[1]
The musical closed on July 15, 2007, and is scheduled to open on Broadway in February 2008 at The Richard Rodgers Theatre. [2]
