INDIANA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

The 'Indiana House of Representatives' is the lower house of the Indiana General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Indiana. The House is composed of 100 members representing 100 distinct districts. House members serve two-year terms without term limits.

The Speaker of the House presides over the legislative activities of the Indiana House of Representatives. The Speaker is elected by the majority party caucus. In addition to presiding over the body, the Speaker controls the flow of legislation and assigns other House members to committees. The minority leader is elected by party caucus.
The current Speaker is Democrat B. Patrick Bauer of the 6th District (South Bend). The Minority Leader is Republican Brian Bosma of the 88th District (Indianapolis).
