Isla Partida is connected to Isla Espiritu Santo by a narrow isthmus. These two islands, in the Sea of Cortez, are protected by UNESCO as biospheres. They are located a short boat ride from La Paz, which lies on the Baja California Sur peninsular, in Mexico.
