JAKUB VORáčEK


'Jakub Voráček' (Born August 15, 1989 in Slaný, Czechoslovakia) is an amateur ice hockey player who plays for the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL. Voráček was taken first overall in the 2006 CHL Import Draft. He stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 185 pounds. Voráček, along with Québec Remparts center Angelo Esposito, is considered by many sources as one of the QMJHL's top prospects for the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. For several months, he has been featured in the top-10 draft ranking published by International Scouting Service. Voráček also represented Czech Republic at the World Junior Ice Hockey Championship in 2007. On June 22, 2007, he was drafted 7th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets at the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Voráček was on Team Bergeron-Burns for the 2007 CHL-NHL top prospects game, scoring one goal. [1]
