JALIN WOOD
'Jalin Wood' (b. June 1 1981) is a beauty queen from Waynesboro, Mississippi, who has competed in the Miss America pageant and competed in the Miss USA pageant in 2007.
Wood won the Miss Mississippi title in a state pageant held June 23-26, 2004 at the Vicksburg Convention Center, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. It was her second attempt at the title, as she placed fourth runner-up the previous year. She represented Mississippi in the Miss America 2005 pageant held in September 2004 but did not win any special scholarships or place in the nationally televised pageant. Her performance talent was piano.
In 2006, Wood returned to the pageant stage and won the Miss Mississippi USA pageant, held in Cleveland on November 11.[1] She will represent Mississippi in the Miss USA 2007 pageant to be held in the spring of 2007 at an as-yet unannounced location and will be the second Miss America 2005 delegate competing in this pageant. Jenna Edwards of Florida was crowned Miss Florida USA in July. Wood's sister titleholder is Anne Elise Parks, Miss Mississippi Teen USA 2007.
Wood graduated as salutorian from Wayne Academy in 1999 and is a cum laude graduate of Mississippi College with a degree in chemistry.[2] She has attended The University of Mississippi and has been romantically linked to Shane Power, a former forward on the Mississippi State University basketball team. Woods is a champion quarter horse exhibitor.[2]
